Why Amayasa is taken to remember ancestors.
Why Amayasa is taken to remember ancestors.
We know Moon is mind and sun is the soul or the very body that is you.
Thithi means a lunar day it's calculated as 12 degrees distance traveled by moon. Remember a Rasi or House has 30 degrees.
Its divided into two pakshas or phases. 12+12=24
Krishna(Dark or Black, Lord Krishna got the name because he was Dark in skin tone) and shukla (White, Venus being white Lord Sukuran got his name ) paksha ( waxing and waning), Paksha is (Phanka or Fan) wings of Bird (Pakshi), Bird has two wings, dark and white.
12 degrees x 15 thithis x 2 pakshas 360 degrees.
When moon is dark the darkness prevails all around. Darkness means that which absorbs everything.
When Moon is bright we are able to see ourself, "ma vasya".(ma is me, vasya is place were I reside)
During darkness we are not able to see, ie. A+ ma + vasya. "a" as prefix word meaning is opposite now. I am not able to see myself.
A ma vasya = I can't see but I am there. So what does it mean. My Genes carry the memory of my ancestors which resides in us as me.
This realization helps us to remembrer our ancestor who are in us and thank them for what we are today on the Amayasa or no moon day .
Thai Amayasa, very important as Sun has just moved to uttarayan (Northern hemisphere) and our ancestors are know to live in Dakshinnayan (Southern Hemisphere) .
Knowledge of Astrology gives to much knowledge on why are we asked to carry on certain things in a perticular way.
