Vedic Astrology

Earlier it was know as Hindu Astrology, I don't know why they gave this name, may be because the world thought that  it came from the people of Hindu- Hindustan or India. I think Vedic astrology is a appropriate name,

To me it is a very old art for predicting the future...

My view on how Astrology became to existence, Astrology in various forms is very prominent in every part of the globe, many live their life based on the prediction, it cross across all the religions, race, countries, continents etc.. most of them look at the stars and predict ... the time of the particular event be in Deepavali, id or birth of a great human on earth etc.

The concept as I  see ....

We are able to predict the movement of Stars, Sun, Moon, comets etc.. almost very precisely, we know when the heavenly body will move or can be seen at a particular time and date, with current knowledge we can say for maybe for few 1000 years or more in future. is that not amazing we can see the postilion of stars in future and we can imagine how the sky will look like..

The astronomical scientist of ancient times, some call them as sages, some as prophets or great soul.

We know for a fact that 5000 years back people did have knowledge about positions of heavenly bodies, The Vedas, the Egypt pyramids  the Incas everyone left behind the traces of their abundant knowledge on the Astronomical data they have collected. Jantar Mantar built in 1727 http://www.jantarmantar.org is one of the proofs left behind in India for us to understand.

What about Earth...?

Earth is a planet and it also moves at a pre-determined path and with precision, so that means Earth and its matters also behave in a unique manner, this is logically. So if we live on Earth we are part of the matter that is made as Earth. phew.. that makes a logical conclusion that life on Earth can be predicted, so our lives can also be predicted one of the methods to predict is Astrology which use planetary positions as reference.

This being my basic understanding after a little reading of various astrological system available in English print. I by luck hit on a site called vedicastrology.org and Mr. PRV gave me a insight into the many aspects, I did not meet him in person. I just listened to the mp3 that he has shared and some books of his and further reading of "Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra" since I knew a bit of Sanskrit, made things a bit easy. Reading of Mr.BV Raman books gave further insight into the subject. As I understood the concepts better many things fall in place in my life as I  per the many of the standards methods presented, what I understand is that you being a part of the Earth Matter got to see many things in a different perspective, which is of-course very difficult  to me given the environment I have grown up, I understood we are not living life the natural way, so our thinking is also not natural, so it takes time to understand the natural concepts to peculate in our thinking process. Once classic example is Vedic Maths it works the way our brain naturally works, take a look at the below sample
